About Programme:

The Civil Engineering Programme prepares the students to carry out innovative research to fulfil the needs of engineering education system, industry and society. The Programme has strong focus in the research areas of Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Construction Management along with Generic Civil Engineering. Department comprises of high end teaching and research laboratories in these areas. The Department of Civil Engineering, one of the founding Departments of DYPU, over the years, has grown tremendously, and is now recognized as one of the best and major Engineering Departments. With its multifaceted faculty, it provides high quality teaching and research. We provide very attractive facilities and environment that joins the Department as either Faculty or Student.

Keeping this opinion in mind, since the beginning of the Department, our goal is to do research in inspiring engineering problems and provide effective engineering solution in the various specializations of Civil Engineering. The Department is dynamically involved in basic as well as applied research. The faculty members of the department are actively engaged in publishing research papers in reputed journals, national and international conferences.

The programme is approved by AICTE and affiliated to D. Y. Patil University, Pune.

Programme Objectives:

• Graduates will be able to design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
• Graduates through this Programme will be able to achieve their goals to become successful professionals in the field of civil works.
• Graduate will pursue advanced study and research in engineering
• Overall graduates will achieve a sense of completeness in their professional and personal development.

• Basic Science Courses
• Engineering Science Courses including workshop, drawing, basics of each branch is covered for making the strong foundation of engineering.
• Professional Core Courses.
• Professional Elective courses relevant to chosen specialization/branch.
• Open subjects – Electives from other technical and /or emerging subjects*.
• Project work, seminar and internship in industry or professional organization
• Environmental Sciences, Induction training, Indian Constitution, Essence of Indian Traditional Knowledge.

Certifications* :

• The certification programmes shall be organized at various schools/ departments as per the branches or programmes, required for Technical and Professional Managerial skills with leading and reputed Industry, Professionals and Certifying organizations.
• Students can also pursue courses on online platforms such as a massive open online course (MOOCs*), Coursera*, National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL*) etc.

Eligibility:

Maharashtra State Candidate:

1. The Candidate should be an Indian National.
2. Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together and The Candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in MHT-CET 2020 and should obtain non zero score in MHT-CET2020.
   OR
3. Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).

All India Candidates:

1. The Candidate should be an Indian National.
2. Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subjects and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together and should obtain non zero positive score in JEE Main Paper I or the candidate should have appeared in all the subjects in MHT-CET 2020 and should obtain nonzero score in MHT-CET2020. However, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non-zero positive score in JEE (Main) Paper I over the candidates who obtained non zero score in MHT-CET2020.

Selection Process:

All Eligible students willing to apply should submit their academic credentials and entrance test score. Based on above, a merit list will be prepared.
