Overview

NCC (National Cadet Corps) was formed in 1948, in India. It can be traced back to the ‘University Corps’, which was created under the Indian Defence Act 1917, with the objective to make up for a shortage of personnel in the Army.
In 1949, the Girls Division was formed in order to provide equal opportunities to school and college-going girls. The NCC was given an inter-service image in 1950 when the Air Wing was added, followed by the Naval Wing in 1952. In the same year, the NCC curriculum was extended to include community development/social service activities as a part of the NCC syllabus at the behest of Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who took a keen interest in the growth of the NCC.
National Cadet Corps is an organization under the Ministry of Defense, Government of India. The main objective of this institute is to provide military education and training to school and college boys to develop their personality, sense of duty, discipline, professional skills, and patriotic fervor.
NCC has a great contribution to nation-building activities like crime prevention, social integration, etc.
D Y Patil University | Pune | Ambi, started NCC Unit in the Academic Year 2022, under the guidance of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor – Dr. Sayalee Gankar Ma’am. The D Y Patil University Unit now consists of 35 Cadets combining 1st & 2nd Batch.
D Y Patil University | Pune | Ambi, has witnessed mesmerizing NCC Cadets Pared on 15th August 2023 & 26th January 2024. DYPU NCC Cadets are also actively involved in Piloting in VIP’s, Chief Guests, Guest Speakers which University had called for multiple programs like Convocation, Freshman Orientation, Honhar Bharat, Research Scholar Day and many more. D Y Patil University | Pune | Ambi, NCC Unit has brought Discipline in above mentioned events and uplifted the glory of these events.
NCC Cadets have also, gone under multiple training camps at NCC Headquarters | Pune, like Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC), Annual Training Camp (ATC), Thal Sena Camp (TSC), Army Attachment Camp (ATC) and many more. This gave NCC cadets a professional approach & honed their personality for their future in Indian Army.
D Y Patil University | Pune | Ambi, is also planning to take this NCC Unit even higher by providing more & more intense training & education. And create a wonderful platform for the University students to enter into Indian Army.
