Brief :

Prof. Omkar Samudra has graduated as an architect (1997) and holds a post graduate diploma in Planning (specialization in Housing) from CEPT University (1999). He has held managerial and directorial positions over two decades while working with world renowned organizations within India and abroad. He has a vast experience in the field of Urban Planning and Architectural Design and has played a pivotal role being a consultant to the Royal Government of Bhutan on various Urban Planning projects. He has also won national level design awards while pursuing graduation and masters. With all his experience in the field, now, he is dedicatedly involved in academics to share his knowledge and experience with students pursuing graduation and post graduation courses within architectural stream. He aims to give a cutting edge to architectural fraternity.

Achievements/ Recognitions/ Awards :

    • Won the Chattrapati Shivaji Market Competition in the Pune Cantonment Board limits in the year 2000. It involved the redesign and conservation of the 100-year-old existing market in relation to its present urban surroundings.

    • Won second prize in World Habitat Day (WHD)- 1998, Design Ideas Competition for ‘Safer Neighborhood.’ Promoters- Ministry of Urban Affairs and Employment, Organizers- School of Planning, New Delhi. One of the jury members’s for the competition was the Pioneer of Indian Architecture, Late Ar. A. P. Kanvinde.

    • Won citation for G.Sen Trophy of NASA (Roorkee) 1995- ‘Redesign of a Railway Station.’ Theme: Annex
