About Programme:
M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering Design at DYPU, is designed keeping in line with the recent revolutions taking place in industry and to address future avenues the engineers will have to deal with. Mechanical Engineers are often expected to have the ability to analyse and design systems based on the ability to predict the motion and/or deformation of rigid bodies and deformable distributed mass systems. Industry in present era is completely moving to artificial intelligence wherein the product specifications are computer generated as well as manufacturing is also algorithm guided which forms the significance of CAD/CAM domain in industries. Recent revolution in the industry has made it to change all its processes as per industry 4.0 which mainly focusses on automation & integration of all industrial processes. In view of this future engineers must be well versed with automation strategies & implementation.
Evergreen & close to heart aspect of engineering has been automobile sector which has evolved itself on various facets in past ten decades. The ecological awareness among engineers has mandated to shift to newer energy sources & hybrid approaches. The community also demands comfortable climate & efficient processes. The students are exposed to the problems faced by today’s societies, and are trained to address those problems through innovative thinking to develop appropriate technological solutions
The M.Tech. Programme in Mechanical Engineering Design is approved by AICTE and affiliated to D Y Patil University Pune.
Programme Objectives:
- The program will help to generate high quality post graduates through rigorous coursework and cutting-edge research activities.
- The program will be able to create aesthetically sensitive, socially committed and technologically competent Engineers and Management Professionals.
- The engineers will use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Certifications* :
- The certification programmes shall be organized at various schools/ departments as per the branches or programmes, required for Technical and Professional Managerial skills with leading and reputed Industry, Professionals and Certifying organizations.
- Students can also pursue courses on online platforms such as a massive open online course (MOOCs*), Coursera*, National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL*) etc.

Eligibility:
Maharashtra State Candidate & All India Candidates
- The Candidate should be an Indian National.
- Passed Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of Engineering and Technology from All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent, with at least 50% marks (at least 45 % in case of Backward class categories and Person with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).
- Passed bachelor's degree in the relevant course of Engineering and Technology as specified in the eligibility criteria for admission to a Post Graduate Degree course of the concerned University for which admission is being sought.
- Obtained Non-Zero positive score in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2021) conducted by Indian Institute of Technology OR PERA-CET 2021 conducted by Preeminent Education and Research Association(PERA).
OR - For sponsored candidate, minimum two years of full timework experience in a registered firm / company/ industry/educational and/or research institute / any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is sought.
*Eligibility Criteria rules as stated by AICTE and UGC will be applicable from time to time.

Selection Process:
All Eligible students willing to apply should submit their academic credentials and entrance test score. Based on above, a merit list will be prepared.
